Important Information
please review carefully!

Classes should start the week of September 27-to be confirmed. You will receive a phone call confirming the day(s) and time(s) of your dancer's class(es).

IN GENERAL

  • Dancers are required to wear their hair up, secure and off the face.
  • No jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches or dangling earrings are permitted.
  • Parents are responsible for getting students to and from classes safely, on time and in the appropriate attire. Plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before the end of class to pick up dancers.
  • Parents must provide any and all pertinent health information regarding students, including any physical or learning disabilities.
  • Should a student be unable to attend class, please call (519)928-2583 and leave a message.
  • In the event of snow storms or power outages, please call (519)928-2583 for a recorded message or check the NOTICE BOARD on this website A make up date will be advised at the next class.
  • Because we have limited space and students are easily distracted, parents are not permitted to stay in the room during class. There is a “waiting area” with chairs. (Pre-Dance parents - see Pre-Dance Info Sheet.)
  • Waiver & Indemnification form must be returned before participating in any classes.
**If there are six or less students in a 1 hr class the class will be 45 min due to the intensity level. Less than 5 students per class may result in cancellation of the class.
  • Class placement is based on students' age, experience, ability and availability of the instructors. Should the student find the class too difficult or not challenging enough, arrangements may be made to move them into another class.
  • Please note: no new students will be accepted after December, 2010.
  • All payments by post dated Cheques or cash must be submitted by the end of October/10!
  • Most classes perform two routines in our Recitals and we put together two interchangeable costumes which the dancers keep for under $120.00 per element. We recycle, borrow and consider daily use when designing! Professional Dance Photos in costumes will be taken before recitals. Our recitals are also recorded and edited for DVD's for distribution after the shows. These are not included in any of the aforementioned costs.

    BODY WEAR for CLASSES

I do not recommend purchasing anything until you are sure your dancer is going to stick with the classes!

Please confirm with your dancers' instructor as to preference of dancewear & footwear before making any purchases!

  • In general, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Jazz-Hop, Modern and Lyrical Dance participants should wear short or long sleeved bodysuits without attached skirts. Beige or pink tights are usually worn underneath, with the exception of Acro- wear bodysuits, footless leggings or stirrups and bare feet. Hip Hop and Adult students should wear loose fitting comfortable clothing. Pant leg hems should not touch the floor for safety reasons. Also see Pre-Dance Information,

    FOOT WEAR for CLASSES

  • All Jazz students should wear proper jazz oxfords (split soles are best.) More advanced Jazz students now wear "foot undies" but again, confirm with instructor before making purchases!
  • All Ballet students should wear "pink" ballet slippers. Purchase string ties, not elastic ties near the toe, as these come loose consistently! Pointe dancers must be properly fitted for pointe shoes.
  • Hip Hop/Ac-Hop students should have a pair of clean white running shoes used only for dance.
  • Standard tap shoes are required for children and adult tap classes.
  • Acro related classes wear bare feet. Combo classes such as Jacro or Ac-Hop may have to purchase shoes as well.
  • Modern or Lyrical dancers will likely wear "foot undies".

There are a number of locations to purchase footwear and body wear for dancers. Prices vary from store to store so check yellow pages and call for best pricing.

Any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me, Lori, at (519) 928-2583.

**Don’t be a stranger! Please pop in once and a while to chat with the teacher about your dancer’s progress!

Looking forward to dancing through another great year!
